Provincetown, Mass. Nov. 12, 1919. My dear Madden: I have a letter today from one William L. Lykens of the New York Theatre Building asking if there is any chance of his securing my "The Dreamy Kid" -- (now playing down at the Provincetown Players) -- with a view of placing it in vaudeville. I have refered him to you and you will doubtless hear from him. Do you know of him, and do you think this might result in something? It would certainly be a great boon to me to place this play in Vaudeville as it is my own and no royalties would have to be split with anyone. Also I think it would stand a much better chance than most of my short plays of making a hit with the two-a-days. Anyway, if Lykens seems to mean business I can send you a script of the play any time you wish it. The reference to "Beyond" in your letter of today sounds encouraging. I only hope you will have some news of a real progress to give me. With very kindest regards, Very sincerely yours, Eugene O'Neill. P.S. Have decided to enclose script herewith. |
