Provincetown, Mass. April 6, 1920 My dear Madden: I enclose another self-explaining letter. It seems to me that my "Before Breakfast" might possibly fill the bill. Have you a copy of the play to submit to her? I have not. But one can easily be procured as I imagine the play is on sale at Brentano's, etc. If not, a copy can be had from the publisher, Frank Shay, 26 Horatio St., New York City. It is in phamplet form, only thirty-five cents. In the meantime, I am writing to this McCall woman and telling her to get in touch with you. It is about time, I should think, that our luck should change on these vaudeville possibilities and one of them actually come to something. One thing I meant to ask you in my last letter is whether Tyler will have to pay my expenses when I have to go to Boston for "The Straw" rehearsals. It seems to me the contract reads that way but I want to make sure of it. With very kindest regards, Sincerely, Eugene O'Neill. |
