Belgrade Lakes, Maine Sept. 14th Dear Dick: In a letter of a couple of weeks or so ago you said, in answer to an inquiry of mine, that H. Rumsey had some stock money for me and was forwarding it. It hasn't arrived yet. Will you ask him about this? I'm making plans about the Bermuda place and want to know exactly what I can count on. I have written Kenneth that I am willing to wait until Kommer gets here and see what comes of the Reinhardt possibility but that, as it will then be too late to sell the play elsewhere with much possibility of a production this season, the Actors should sign a regular contract with me on it now and give me the advance (they have had it since June to all intents and purposes) that I would have had the right to expect on a play of this kind from any other management. You had better get in touch with Kenneth about this -- or perhaps he has already got in touch with you. The script of "Guilty One" arrived today. Agnes says to thank you. All best, Gene. |
